PUSS IN WELLIES

A pantomime by Fred Aylin
The town of Bedlam is tyrannised by the dreadful double-headed Ogre, whose henchman Flashpoint and minions Spitfire & Messerschmidt operate a protection racket.

PLOT SUMMARY
Jack the miller’s son inherits a cat in his father’s will. He admires the lovely Princess Juliet from afar. Meanwhile the Cat turns out to have magical properties. With Puss’s help Jack takes on The Ogre and wins the Princess’s hand.
A splendid plot with many twists and of course the author’s characteristic one-liners.

Town Crier If you’d give me a chance I’ll tell you!

Villager 3 And those from the canteen, otherwise we won’t get any refreshments.

Villagers Hurrah!
King Thank you. Thank you, thank you. You are so kind.
Town Crier Welcome home, your Majesty. I trust your trip away gave you great pleasure?
King Pleasure? Certainly not.
Town Crier But why?
King Why? Because I had to take her with me for a start.
Queen What were you saying, dear?
King I was telling him about the sightseeing, dear.
Queen Oh yes. Do you know we went sightseeing until our eyes were sore?
Villager 1 Really?
King Yes she certainly was a sight for sore eyes.
Queen Still travel does broaden one, don’t you think?
Villager 2 Oh yes, especially around your middle!
