Cinderella

by Nancy McPherson

The traditional story of Cinderella with all the familiar characters - the dashing Prince Charming, Dandini, the hilarious Swanky and Manky (the Ugly Sisters) and the unlucky-in-love Buttons. The addition of some very funny Scottish characters - King Airchie and Queen Isa of Caledonia, along with Fatchance and Naechance, the hapless Palace guards - injects a lot of humour. There is also much hilarity and action from Boab the Dug, the pet dog that Buttons keeps secretly in the Baron's house.

Cinderella & The Crystal Slipper

by Brian Luff

Brian Luff's script puts a number of fresh spins on the story while at the same time delivering a traditional family panto with all the usual trimmings. It's crammed with fast, snappy wordplay, accessible modern references and two hilarious slapstick routines. There's something for all the family! The emphasis is very much on comedy, which is provided by the Ugly Sisters as well as a daft duo of party planners called Mr Muggsy and Mr Puggsy who orchestrate the Grand Ball at the palace as well as spending most of the time trying to escape the romantic clutches of the Ugly Sisters.

Cinderella in Rhyming Couplets New

by Dave Buchanan

Dave Buchanan's full-length version of Cinderella in verse concentrates on comic set pieces, especially those involving the Ugly Sisters. Outstanding are a vintage car scene, a classic ballroom scene involving several musical styles and hilarious dialogue, and a take on Strictly Come Dancing. There is some knockabout comedy with the Handymen, and a colourful scene set in the South Seas, which occurs when Fairy Foozle loses her bearings.
